Bread
- 🍞 4 slices sandwich bread
- 🧈 Butter, as needed
Beef Cutlet
- 🥩 2 steak cuts of beef
- 🧂 Salt, a pinch
- Pepper, a pinch
- Flour, as needed
- 🥚 1/2 beaten egg
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil, as needed
Sauerkraut
- 🥬 200g shredded cabbage
- 🧂 1/3 tsp salt
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp whole-grain mustard
Garnish
- Watercress, as needed
步驟
Prepare the beef cutlet: Season both sides of the beef with salt and pepper. Coat the beef in flour, then beaten egg, and finally breadcrumbs. Heat vegetable oil in a pan to 180°C and fry the beef for about 1 minute until golden brown.
Make the sauerkraut: Shred the cabbage into thin strips and massage with salt in a bowl. Let it sit for 10 minutes until softened, then squeeze out excess water. Mix sugar, vinegar, and mustard in a bowl, then toss the cabbage in the mixture.
Toast the bread slices until golden brown and spread butter on one side. Layer half of the sauerkraut, followed by the beef cutlet, and top with another slice of bread. Wrap the sandwich in plastic wrap and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Cut the sandwich into four equal pieces and serve with watercress as garnish.
