Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.

Heat butter in a pan over medium heat, add chicken, and cook until browned. Add mushrooms and onion, sauté until softened.

Add flour and stir until combined. Pour in water, consomme, and salt, then bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 5–6 minutes.

Add milk and cook while stirring until thickened, about 5 minutes.
