Slice the burdock root thinly at an angle and soak in water to remove bitterness. Drain well. Cut garlic in half lengthwise, remove the core, and crush with the flat side of a knife.

Cut the boiled octopus into bite-sized pieces.

In a pot, heat olive oil, garlic, salt, and chili over low heat until fragrant. Add octopus and burdock root, then simmer over medium heat for about 3 minutes.
