Wash the nametake mushrooms and drain well. Soak the dried wakame in water until rehydrated, then drain and cut into bite-sized pieces if necessary.

In a pot, bring water and dashi powder to a boil. Add the nametake mushrooms and wakame, then simmer on low heat for 3–4 minutes.

Reduce the heat and dissolve the miso paste into the soup. Heat gently until just before boiling.
