Trim the stems of the shiitake mushrooms slightly and cut them in half.

Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat and add butter. Once the butter is halfway melted, add the shiitake mushrooms and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned.

Flip the mushrooms and cook for another 1–2 minutes until browned on the other side.

Turn off the heat and drizzle soy sauce over the mushrooms.

Plate the mushrooms and sprinkle chopped green onion on top.
