- 1 slice of ginger

- 2 pickled plums
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 🧂 2 tbsp sugar

- 💧 200 ml water

Slice the ginger thinly with the skin on. Remove the seeds from the pickled plums.

In a pot, combine water, soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, ginger, and pickled plums. Bring to a boil.

Add the sardines and cover with a drop lid. Simmer on low heat for 20 minutes.
