Trim the okra by removing the stem caps. Rub them with salt (not listed in ingredients) on a cutting board, then rinse under water. Boil the okra for 1 minute, cool in cold water, drain, and slice into small pieces.

Remove the pit from the umeboshi and finely chop it into a paste.

In a bowl, mix the seasonings (ume paste, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, olive oil). Add the sliced okra and squid, then mix well.
